Henna Cupcakes

HennaCupcakes1

I'm not sure if I've ever mentioned this but my mom and I are henna artists! Well my mom is more so than me but she taught me the ins and outs and all the techniques. Henna is essentially designs on the body that are temporary. It's a tradition to apply henna for celebratory events like a wedding! :) One day, my mom and I designed cupcakes with henna designs using buttercream frosting. Here's a little stop motion video I made while guest posting on Margaret's blog last year:

I was just thinking of how long it's been since I last applied henna and started missing it! Have you ever had henna done?

  2. I've never heard of henna cupcakes before, but this really caught my attention! That's such a unique way to decorate food, I'd never thought of anything like that. Looks good, Tana.
I love henna, I've had it done a few times on Multicultural Day. I wish it would never, ever wash off. It's so beautiful :)

    1. Thanks, Rachel! We were pretty amused once we let the cupcake dry with the frosting. We almost didn't want to eat it but went for it since there were hazelnuts inside the cupcake!

I knowwww, I wish some of the designs would never come off or at least take a longer time to come off. I personally *love* the smell of the eucalyptus in the henna, it smells soo fresh. :)
