Weekly Photo Challenge- 2013 - Round-up

Week 7 - From Where I Stand
Week 7 - From Where I Stand
Happy December! Is this not the month of reflections...and round ups? This year has been incredible and a huge year of change. Lovely lovely changes. Looking back to almost a year of blogging now, I'm so glad that I started a weekly photo challenge to get into the practice of taking photos on a weekly basis with a certain theme in mind. Once I knew that I was taking photos all the time, I decided I didn't really need the thematic challenge anymore.

However, here are a few favorites from the challenge in the first half of 2013:

5/52 - Yellow!
Week 5 - Yellow

Week 18 - White
Week 18 - White

6/52 - Food
Week 6 - Food

Doors
Week 3 - Doors
FlowerBouquet-18
Week 24 - Abstract

9/52 Long Exposure
Week 9 - Long Exposure

Looking back to these photos, it's so strange to see how certain things have evolved (in regards to editing or through composition) or stayed the same. Have you noticed something similar with yours photos and/or design work?

  2. These are gorgeous! You're so talented. My design work has definitely evolved in the past year. I've grown to appreciate the less is more rule and I've incorporated quite a bit of color compared to what I usually do.

    1. Thanks so much Angel! Isn't it really cool to see how your work has evolved? It's so interesting that through design you've incorporated a more minimal aesthetic--i'd say the same for myself too! I'd ideally like to incorporate more color too. :)

  3. I love the idea of a weekly photo challenge! I'm not sure I'd be able to keep up with it, but that's why it's a challenge, right? :) I love the white picture from week 18- so cool.

    1. Oh man, truth is, though I was taking photos on the regular, it was definitely getting hard to keep up with the themes. I totally know what you mean.

      Thanks, Nnenna!

  4. ALL these photos are really great. It's hard to choose one as "favorite", as they are all so good.
My photos are always evolving, as I'm always experiment with different styles... :)

  6. I would never call myself talented in the graphic design department. But, I very much appreciate people who own good aesthetic capabilities and can transfer that into art/graphics/design/style. Your photos, both in composition and lighting, are so appealing. They are simple in nature but often, the simplest things can be very complex. I love what you have captured!

    1. Thanks so much, Nancy! I definitely appreciate people with good aesthetic capabilities. I've noticed that as much as I love photography, painting, drawing, I can't seem to transfer that over to something like ceramics or pumpkin carving (mine was almost laughable this year!)
