Some post take 20 minutes and some post like this one have taken a few weeks! A few things that are used through one of our five senses and things that have elevated my day to day.
SIGHT | Having flowers around the home are always a constant now. I've allotted myself a weekly supply of flowers. Sometimes tulips, sometimes peonies (whenever they are in season) and sometimes I get lucky and get to take home floral arrangements from weddings! (above are scraps from this floral arrangement)
SOUND | Do you ever have songs you've listened to oh so many times and get sick of them? Me too, all the time! Except for a few exceptions like the Vacationers - Good As New. Have a listen.
TOUCH | My husband gifted me this sweet felt laptop case for xmas accompanied with a laptop. It's so different from anything I've seen as far as cases go. I appreciate the design and the fact that I don't have to deal with zippers at all.
SMELL | Definitely having a moment for candles recently. I picked this one up a looong time from UO and liked it so much that I sent it to my friend overseas since she writes a lot of letters in candle light! She mentioned she didn't have a scented one yet and though she might enjoy this one. Especially with the gardenia notes and it's resemblance to jasmine, count me in!
TASTE | Sometimes even a simple cup of coffee will do it for me. Caffeine is the elixir of life...as my friend once said.

I hope you enjoyed updates in the form of five senses. I'm off to Los Cabos, Mexico for the rest of the week. Have you been there before? Hope you have a great week! x
I've been in the market for some new candles, so I'll have to check these out. Right now I'm obsessing over everything Prospector Co. Wish you could scent test candles online haha! What an interesting post, I love how you curated the images as well Tana! Hope your trip is lovely :)
ReplyDeleteHope you get this one-- I loooove it so much that I haven't burned it yet! haha. I'll have to check out Prospector Co. and how awesome would that be if we can smell candles online before buying them! I actually returned a "Rosandium" diptique because I really didn't enjoy it as much! Thanks, Kristyn, glad you liked this post!
DeleteBeautiful post Tana! I can really see your dedication in this photos! I'm with you on having flowers around, I never used to before, but they really light up any room. You're in Mexico? Oh so cool, have so much fun here! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Maru! They definitely do light up the room--so glad we can appreciate them this much. I was in Cabo for a few days, I enjoyed it very much! Do you live on the east or west coast?
DeleteLove this post, Tana. Such beautiful photos and I love how you draw in the five senses. Enjoy Mexico!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Katie! It was definitely a fun trip! Hope you're having a great day. :)
DeleteGreat post, I love the idea of focusing on each of your senses... Beautiful photos as well :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Kevin! :)
DeleteBeautiful post!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend
Thanks, Therése! You too! :)
Deletewhat a great post! i have a thing for candles as well. i love lighting them throughout the day. i just picked up incense though from a japanese shop we visited while we were up in ny/nj. they're a bit stronger but i like them as well! have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Jane! I love incenses but I agree, I think they're too strong for the place I'm living in currently. I think if it was more of an open floor plan, I'd enjoy it more too. :)
DeleteWhat a unique post concept! Definitely enjoyed this one. We do take our five senses for granted at times, thanks for that kick of perspective. Without one or the other, our senses wouldn't help us enjoy our surroundings nearly as much. Cheers to simple appreciation! x
ReplyDeleteThanks, Rachel! Happy to read that you enjoyed it. I don't think I'd ever be able to describe appreciating our five senses as you just did. You and your words! <3
DeleteOh what a great post Tana! I've been looking for some new candles, should try and find this now.
ReplyDeleteHave a happy Sunday!
Thanks so much Arshia! Hope you find some new ones soon--would love to hear which ones! Hope you're having a great week!
DeleteSuch a good post, Tana! I love dwelling and being "present" when it comes to my 5 senses! Right now I'm being overcome with "listening" (as you know, I'm listening to the XX, but I am totally going to check out the Vacationers next!) And yup - once I find a great album, I listen it to non-stop for days, weeks, sometimes months on end. haha! That candle looks like it would smell divine, and that felt laptop case - such a great gift from the hubby!!
ReplyDeleteLos Cabos! Have you come back yet? I can't wait to hear/see all about it! I know you must have had such a wonderful time! I've never been, but would love to go one day! xoxo
I love how you wrote that, Jess about being present with our five senses! I'll have to check out their new album now too. I'm glad I'm not the only one who has the same music habits but I look forward to sharing new ones with each other! :)
DeleteI came back this past weekend! Though we working most of the days, I had a couple of hours off-which I definitely took advantage of! Thanks so much, Jess!
So lovely! Looking forward to seeing your posts about Cabo. It was great to meet you there :-)
ReplyDeleteIt was lovely meeting you too, Anne-Sophie! I'll definitely be posting them soon--thanks for being my yoga model that day! :)
