Dessert For Breakfast

Untitled
When my husband asked me if I wanted to go to a Lakers game in Downtown LA this past week, I immediately said "Yes!" with excitement. What he didn't know was that I was probably more excited to go to the dessert place after than to actually watch the game.

You see... there's an amaaaazing bakery five minutes away from the stadium and if we're going to watch the game there...we might as well stop by. I've mentioned this place before when I had a hazelnut beignet and I was eager to return but this time to try their macarons.

Aren't those colors amazing? They're strawberry, violet infused with something I can't remember, rose, espresso, and pistachio.

I didn't eat them that same night. I ate them bright an early the next day while taking these photos, because dessert for breakfast is probably one of the best thing in the mornings. Oh, and with some caffeine too. :)

What about you, what is your choice of dessert for breakfast?

  2. AH I love macaroons with a passion (is it weird saying that while I haven't even tried one before?). I suppose it's just one of those foods that will agree with my sweet tooth. And in case you haven't heard before your photography is the best! :) <3

    1. Hey Abigail, no it's not weird at all! I had an instant crush on macarons when I first saw them and this was even before tasting them. I do hope you get to try one soon!! Thanks so much for your kind words! <3

  3. haha! Here in Michigan our sports teams are in Detroit, where one of my favorite bakeries are..whenever my husband talks about going to a game, I am the exact same way- I am going just for the trip to Avalon. I love the photos you took, especially the one of the leaves + macaroons!

  6. Before I moved to NYC the only macarons I've had were macaroons :) Then I found out about these lovely gems. Even though I've only had them twice, they are the best things ever!! And I love all their pretty colors!! And duh, why not have them for breakfast?!? :)

    1. Thanks so much Jessica! I was happy to read that you tried both macarons and macaroons--they're so different but I love them both! :) I don't have them too often either but they're definitely something I savor when I do, like for breakfast! Glad we both feel the same way about dessert in the mornings :D

    1. Thanks so much, Angel! :) Now when I go to bakeries near stadiums and faraway places, I'll think of blogger pals that also do the same thing. I'm so glad to know I'm not the only one either. :D

  8. Passionfruit cheesecake or egg tarts are divine for breakfast. Though nowhere near as aesthetically pleasing as the food showcased here! Your work is perfect, but you don't need me to remind you of that. ;)

    1. Thanks so much, Rachel, you really are the sweetest! I haven't tried any of those desserts but they sound amazing! Great choices for a diving breakfast indeed. I have tried a different flavor of each like pumpkin cheesecake or fruit tarts. I'll keep in mind to try one of those the next time I'm out.
