Like I mentioned in this post, morning rituals are still a little new to me. So far, I've been able to read, blog, cook, draw and of course take photos to document the process of me turning into an early bird! Side effects include extra cheerfulness, more optimism and more pastries!!!
Sometimes I wait for the sun to come out so I can take some still photos with sufficient lighting and sometimes I sip my coffee and catch up with a lot of branding/marketing/photography books before I'm off to work. There's still not enough time to do as much as I'd like but now I don't find myself saying "I just don't have time to do it."
What about you? Do you have any morning rituals you like doing to start your day?
That sounds like a magical transformation - I could never become a morning person, I don't think. The best thing I do in the morning is probably hopping around to some feel-good music.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos as always, you document life so simply yet luxuriously.
Thanks, Rachel! I'm definitely super excited for this transition. Hopping around to feel-good music is an awesome start to the day!
DeleteI'm so in love with these photos Tana! I haven't got as wonderful of a morning ritual as you. But I wish I could get up earlier and have more "me" time! The first thing I usually do when I wake up is get right to work checking emails...I know, pretty lame! But this inspires me to savor those morning hours! xo
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jessica! You know it took me years to finally build this ritual and find more "me" time. Checking email is a great way to wake up. If I'm feeling particularly sleep, emails definitely help!
DeleteSuch beautiful photos Tana! Love your instagram photos, didn't know you post more photos here too. Have a great rest of the weekend. xo
ReplyDeleteOh hehe, and as far as morning rituals, I'm an early morning person actually. I usually wake up at 6 and start my day with a shower while coffee is being made, then coffee, checking my emails, instagram, listening to a song or two, couple of push ups, sit ups and downward dog, and heading to work.
DeleteThanks Arshia! Your morning ritual sounds AMAZING! Working out is still something I struggle to do in the mornings but I know eventually it will happen. Coffee is definitely a must for me too :)
DeleteP.S. I just tried leaving a comment on your blog, couldn't find an option for it though!
DeleteAh...I'm a big morning person, but I'm not quite the fan of rituals. I'd rather keep things a little crazy and different, make coffee one morning and pick up breakfast another. I love all these pictures, though, the flowers are just stunning :) I do hope you find a ritual that suits you!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Meghan! Changing it up in the morning sounds awesome too! I think if I'm feeling uninspired, I'd definitely try something different. Just in general, I think waking up and doing things not in a hurry is such a great way to enjoy the day--I'm definitely happy if that turns into my ritual. :)
DeleteI'm guilty of sleeping in until the very last second, and not taking time to create a morning ritual. You are inspiring me to attempt at becoming an early bird!
